Telephone and videocall consultations

We are highly experienced and trained in remote consultations through telephone and online media.

We offer 30-minute consultations at £40 which we request in advance. Each further 15 minutes is charged at £20 and this is paid after the call.

For some situations 30 minutes is enough time but for more complex situations – particularly where we need to see your baby feeding – more time may be appropriate. We automatically check at 25 minutes if you wish to continue and can either summarise at that point or agree more time.

Facetime, WhatsApp, Skype, Zoom – we can usually use whatever works best for you.

£40

for up to 30 minutes

£20.00

per 15 minutes thereafter

We request that an initial payment of £40 is made
prior to the consultation.

The home visit was very useful and I was grateful to have this appointment given the covid restrictions. [My Lactation Consultant] was careful to take all necessary precautions. It was very useful to get advice on positioning the baby during breastfeeding, but also more general advice about supplements to help increase milk supply etc. I would definitely recommend to other mothers who are finding breastfeeding challenging.

I am so grateful for [My Lactation Consultant] breastfeeding support. She helped me from day 1 when my baby’s latch was incredibly painful for me, advising on positioning and then assessing for tongue-tie. [My Lactation Consultant] knowledge, patience, empathy and attentiveness have meant so much to me as a new Mum wanting to breastfeed successfully, and after many weeks of hard work, I am now able to do so. I could not recommend her more highly and will always be grateful to her.

I had video consultations with [My Lactation Consultant] for my nipples problems and, honestly, she saved my breastfeeding experience! Thanks to her I didn’t give up and all my breastfeeding problems were solved (I had nipple pain, nipple bleeding, severe mastitis with hospital admission).

I would strongly recommend to do some video consultations with [London Lactation Consultants] for any breastfeeding issue.
It was a really great experience not only for me but also for my partner.

I am a GP and first time mum, and I really appreciate her help, her kindness, knowledge and great skills.

[My Lactation Consultant] was wonderfully helpful. She reassured me that I was doing a good job already and gave me some pointers to help improve my son’s latch. Really would recommend the service.

I have been connecting with [My Lactation Consultant] throughout the pandemic and my journey as a new mother. From addressing a sudden drop in my milk supply, to introducing me and my partner to baby-led weaning and challenges around my baby boy’s eating, [My Lactation Consultant] has been an incredible resource every step of the way. At a time when I haven’t been able to go to new mum/baby groups or be close to family/friends for guidance, she has been a northstar, provided the best counsel, has helped us overcome every hurdle and has put my mumma mind at ease along the way. It’s a unique time that could feel particularly isolating, but even via videoconference, [My Lactation Consultant] has provided wonderful support!

Home Visits:

Following current Government and Public Health England guidance, we are now able to offer home visits for urgent cases. In order to minimise person-to-person contact and therefore risk of exposure to Covid-19, we are carrying out consultations virtually as much as possible. If it subsequently emerges that a visit is essential, we are permitted to follow up with a home visit, in appropriate PPE. This may of course not be possible for areas where distance/transport is problematic.

We offer a private visit in the comfort of your own home, at a time to suit you.

Our aim during a visit is to give you the opportunity to explore and discuss what’s been happening for you and your baby.  We can then work together to address practical issues and help you to set realistic expectations of your baby and yourself. We will answer any questions you have throughout our time together.  Our goal is to leave you feeling more confident and better able to navigate your way through the jungle of conflicting information, which so many new parents find themselves lost in. We will leave you with a plan and strategies for a way forward, so that you can better achieve your breastfeeding and mothering goals.

Initial visits usually last 90 minutes.  This allows time to find out what’s been happening for your new family, talk about what you’d like to achieve and work on this together.  At the end of the visit we will agree a feeding plan for moving forward.

Subsequent visits offer an opportunity to review how the feeding plan has been working for you both, and to discuss any further options that you would like to explore or additional questions that you might have.  These can be arranged directly with your Lactation Consultant.

£150

initial visit for first 90 minutes

£120

follow up visits for first 60 minutes

additional time is charged at £35 per half hour

The fee includes all travelling time and expenses.
Any additional equipment items required will be charged at cost

When I met [My Lactation Consultant] I was really struggling with breastfeeding and just about ready to give up altogether not to mention, unknowingly, on the brink of full blown mastitis. [My Lactation Consultant] immediately turned things around for us and gave us new methods and positions that meant no more excruciating pain and also saved me from mastitis by showing me effective massage techniques. She was absolutely amazing and so supportive, knowledgeable and informative. I know and understand so much more having had just a couple of sessions and having her help me make a plan has allowed me and my son to be able to continue on our breastfeeding journey. If you are struggling, I would absolutely recommend seeking help sooner rather than later and my consultant was amazing!

We met [My Lactation Consultant] during our antenatal classes and had the most informative session on breastfeeding. When we started our breast feeding journey, we constantly referred to the notes we took and used so many of her recommended positions – it was so helpful.
We contacted her again when our baby was 16 weeks as we had been told by the GP he had tongue tie. By this point, we were pretty desperate, tired and worried. We had a video call to begin with and [my Lactation Consultant] gave us some tips to help us before we saw her in person with both breast and bottle feeding, as we do one bottle a day. She was hugely supportive and caring and gave us the confidence to keep going before we saw her.
We saw her just before we had the tongue tie procedure to talk through what would happen and to put our minds at ease. Our baby absolutely loved her which made it an even better experience!
We had one more appointment after the procedure and again, she was absolutely amazing. So attentive to us and our baby. She has been so quick to respond on email, followed up when she didn’t have to and kept in touch afterwards.
I will be recommending her to all of my friends who would like feeding support in the future and I wouldn’t hesitate to get in touch again for some further assistance.
It was the best decision we made getting back in touch with her and as a result we have a much happier baby when he’s feeding and a much more confident mummy too!

Your support, advice and the comfort you
offered our family…was invaluable. You helped me figure out how to do what was
best for my baby and what was best for me. I felt so supported by you in the
process and so grateful that you helped us find success with breastfeeding. I
cannot thank you enough for that.

Just to say a massive thank you for today – it was lovely to meet you and get all your good advice. It was such a relief to be heard and listened too in such a calm and professional manner, as many women as possible should be aware of your services. I’ll definitely recommend your services to a couple of friends who are due soon too.

We are getting on so much better now with breastfeeding and I no longer have any discomfort… In fact, I am really enjoying the ease and flexibility of it! I’m so grateful for all your help and advice – it was much harder than I had imagined getting started and I think I needed the encouragement to keep going, so thank you.

Tongue Tie information:

Our IBCLCs can support families who suspect their baby is tongue-tied by performing an oral assessment and referring to local tongue tie clinic pathways. We do not offer the tongue tie division procedure.

In most cases, your IBCLC can help with strategies to improve feeding effectiveness and comfort; and support your milk supply. These are important alongside any treatment for tongue-tie.

NICE Guidance is that skilled breastfeeding management is an integral part of any treatment for tongue-tie https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ipg149/chapter/2-The-procedure

I saw [My lactation consultant] from London Lactation Consultants on day six after giving birth. I was seen within 24 hours of making my enquiry and [My lactation consultant] was excellent support identifying my daughter’s tongue tie at an early stage. Feeding was incredibly painful and [My lactation consultant] continued to support me to give me the confidence to follow up when the first division of my daughter’s tongue tie was not sufficient (carried out by another tongue-tie practitioner). I wholeheartedly recommend [My lactation consultant] and the team (I met a few others at NCT run breastfeeding drop-in sessions). 4 months in and I am really glad I saw [My lactation consultant] without any delay. I am sure that [My lactation consultant’s] guidance made all the difference and enabled me to continue breastfeeding – without it (and the solutions she helped me find) I do not think it would have been possible to carry on. Tongue-tie issues aside, the feeding techniques [My lactation consultant] showed me have made feeding much easier and more enjoyable!

My daughter and I had an incredibly difficult time breastfeeding during her first month, to the point where I was expressing around the clock, exhausted, and almost ready to throw in the towel and switch to formula feeding. [My lactation consultant] visited us shortly after my daughter turned one month and worked with us on positioning and latching. She also diagnosed my daughter with an anterior tongue tie. We had my daughter’s tie clipped a week later by a lovely paediatric ENT who [My lactation consultant] referred us to.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience. [My lactation consultant] has an incredible manner and was very patient and encouraging with me; exactly what I needed to hear during an emotional time. My daughter just turned two months old and this past month has been a completely different experience. We are breastfeeding almost exclusively now, something which I never thought would be possible during those early weeks.

The time I spent with [my Lactation Consultant] really transformed my breastfeeding experience. I went from being in near-constant pain and needing to use nipple shields to feeding successfully with little pain in just a couple of hours. [My Lactation Consultant] also spotted my daughter’s tongue tie ( that had been missed by two midwives) which enabled us to get treatment quickly and made a huge difference to how effectively my daughter fed. We are now four weeks in and breastfeeding is a real joy.
