I had a series of digital consultations with in the days and weeks after my daughter's birth (my home was outside of the home visit catchment area). My daughter and I had an incredibly rocky start; I had heard breastfeeding was "hard" but totally underestimated the challenge. I planned and truly wanted to breastfeed but after just a few days of trying I felt so overwhelmed by the difficulty that I stopped. Without expertise, guidance and encouragement (she was a therapist too at times) I would never have established breastfeeding. My daughter is now three months old, I am exclusively breastfeeding and plan to continue for many months. I remain so grateful.
