Kate Main

MA (Hons), IBCLC

Kate qualified as an IBCLC in 2011 and visits mothers throughout central, south and west London, north Surrey and occasionally further afield.

She initially trained with the NCT and qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor in 2008. Since then she has taught antenatal breastfeeding classes for the NCT, supported hundreds of local mothers, and helped to set up and run the Wimbledon Breastfeeding Drop-In, as well as working at Breastfeeding Drop-Ins in Mitcham, Balham and Barnes.

Kate is mum to two school aged children, who help her to stay focused on the delights and challenges of motherhood every day!

Geraldine Chew

BSc (Hons), IBCLC

Geraldine qualified as an IBCLC in 2010 and can visit mothers in a large radius from Twickenham.

She trained with the NCT and qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor in 2005. Geraldine has worked extensively in the local community; helping mothers to breastfeed on the postnatal ward in West Middlesex hospital; running Breastfeeding Drop-Ins in Richmond, Twickenham and Hounslow; teaching antenatal classes for the NCT and visiting mothers and babies privately at home.

Helen Gray

MPhil, IBCLC

Helen qualified as an IBCLC in 2009 and can make home visits to families in Balham, Clapham, Wandsworth and Between the Commons, with appointments in Dulwich and Herne Hill available by arrangement. She was accredited as a La Leche League Leader (breastfeeding counsellor and group leader) in 2001, has led local breastfeeding mothers’ groups in Wimbledon, Clapham, and Balham, and helped to set up the Balham Breastfeeding Cafe.

Alongside more complex issues, Helen focuses on helping mothers to resolve painful breastfeeding and milk supply problems, and can provide assessment and referral for tongue tie if necessary. The mother of three children, her professional work is rooted in some of the difficulties she encountered as a new mum herself.

Helen also runs professional workshops for IBCLCs. She is active on the Communications and Media group of Lactation Consultants of Great Britain (LCGB), the professional organisation for IBCLCs in the UK, and is on the social media teams for GOLD Lactation online conferences and for La Leche League GB. Sharon George

BA (Hons), Dip HE Breastfeeding Counselling, IBCLC

Sharon has been supporting families in her local area of Balham, Clapham and Battersea since 2009. Over that time she has helped hundreds of parents with a range of breastfeeding challenges, including issues such as positioning, tongue-tie or low milk supply.

She qualified as a Lactation Consultant in 2011 (IBCLC), and has a Diploma of Higher Education in breastfeeding counselling from the University of Bedfordshire (2009). Sharon offers consultations during weekdays and weekends to visit mothers in central, and south west London.

Sharon helped set-up the Balham Breastfeeding Café, where she works regularly, as well as the Wimbledon Breastfeeding Drop-in. As part of her work with the NCT, she runs regular antenatal breastfeeding sessions in Wandsworth.

She has 3 young children of her own, who have helped teach her that every child is different and that each mother-and-baby pair is unique.

Joanna Knap

BSc (Hons), IBCLC

In 2006, Joanna qualified as an IBCLC, and in 2009, she trained at Southampton General Hospital and became qualified to carry out infant tongue-tie divisions.  She set up and ran an NHS Tongue-tie Clinic in a west London hospital and has since had extensive experience in carrying out this procedure – both within the NHS and in private practice.

Joanna qualified as a NCT breastfeeding counsellor in 1996, and has supported mums and NHS maternity staff for the last 18 years, both in the NHS, private practice and as a volunteer for the NCT.

Joanna regularly teaches antenatal breastfeeding classes in south-west London, works at two weekly Breastfeeding Drop-Ins in north London and south-west London. She also has a private practice at The Maris Practice in Twickenham, carrying out infant tongue-tie division.

Anna Page

BA (Hons), IBCLC

Anna qualified as an IBCLC in 2006. Anna has worked with parents for the last 20 years, both on a voluntary and private basis. She worked for 11 years within the NHS, supporting new mums on a maternity ward and conducting  breastfeeding training for midwives, paediatricians and other health care professionals.

She qualified as a NCT Breastfeeding counsellor in 1994. Anna teaches regular antenatal breastfeeding classes for the NCT and works at several  Breastfeeding Drop-In centres, offering breastfeeding support to parents and babies of all ages.

Liz Lambourn

BA (Hons), Dip HE Breastfeeding Counselling, IBCLC

Liz was certified as a Lactation Consultant in 2006 (IBCLC), and has a Diploma of Higher Education in breastfeeding counselling from the University of Bedfordshire. She is available for private consultations during weekdays and weekends to visit mothers in central, south and west London.

Liz is a Registered Nurse and qualified as a Breastfeeding Counsellor in 1996 with the National Childbirth Trust.  She has years of experience of supporting mothers in the immediate postnatal period at the West Middlesex University hospital and the local community, and has a special interest in supporting mothers whose baby has had a difficult start in life.

Liz teaches NCT breastfeeding classes, and has set up and currently runs NHS breastfeeding drop-ins in Hounslow, Richmond and Twickenham.
